Thursday October 3 was another day of sewing. Wayne and crew worked to finish sewing the side panels of the canoe. After that, the gores that Wayne had cut to keep the bark snug and close to the frame had to be sewn up as well. Each seam required drilling of holes and the passage of a pair of lines back and forth from the inside to the outside of the canoe and back again, over and over and over, until the seam was fully closed and the lines could be tied off and trimmed. Watch this video to see Wayne and Marcus hard at work over the course of the afternoon.
